History of the Inquisitions
History of the Inquisitions is an international research group within the larger working group, Religious Expansion: Civilizations and Cultures of CEHR, in collaboration with the Chair of Sephardic Studies Alberto Benveniste. This group includes a variety of institutions as well as national and international collaborators.
Recognizing in the phenomenon of the inquisitions a plural historical reality, the affiliated researchers seek to promote comparative reflection on the different institutional manifestations of the Holy Office with the ultimate goal of gaining a better understanding of its penetration into the social fabric and its impact on mentalities and behaviors.
