Introduction

The Department of History of the University of Évora, with other Departments of the Institution, has been offering a Master in Management and Valorisation of Historical and Cultural Heritage since the academic year 2006/2007. The aim of this Master is to increase the scientific and technical knowledge in Historical and Cultural Heritage associated to the methodologies and techniques of inventorying, preservation, valorization and management of Heritage. It also intends to provide scientific instrumentation that allows the recognition of the value of the various types of heritage, through the study of its historical contextualization and the various forms of valorization present in contemporary societies. Based on a multidisciplinary and integrative vision, this Master's Degree seeks to stimulate and enjoy the historical and patrimonial legacy of the regions, placing them at the service of their development. This master's degree, assured by teachers with experience in the areas of Cultural Heritage, History, Art History, Museology, Landscape, Environment and Planning, seeks to ensure the training of specialists capable of safeguarding and managing Historical and Cultural Heritage in the Contemporary World, as well as bet on Heritage as a form of sustained development and cultural promotion of different regions and countries.

Professional Careers

Public and private institutions that deal with the safeguarding, conservation, management, reuse and enhancement of the Historical and Cultural Heritage (Museums, Foundations, Libraries, Archives, Libraries, Counties, local authorities, among others). State institutions and public and private companies in the area of Heritage. Production of historical and patrimonial textual supports for communication and advertising companies, creative and design tourism agencies, which extend to the production of contents for digital format.
