Introduction

  Develop advanced research methods, competencies and skills in the scientific field of History and Philosophy of Science, allowing for specialization in Museology for research in national or international entities and professional integration in public or private institutions or networks that organize cultural and scientific programs.   Develop skills, skills and advanced research methods in the scientific field of History and Philosophy of Science, allowing a specialization in Museology. In the context of historical knowledge, current philosophical and scientific, History and Philosophy of Science has raised an increasing interest, both in the strictly academic context still want in various ways in our society, relevant to the political, economic and cultural, whose decisions they are strongly influenced and conditioned by technical and scientific development. Many decision-makers need to know in their multidisciplinary implications, the origin of this knowledge, its historical background, its relationship with the socio-economic and cultural context in theirs daily work context.   The FCT unit research of scientific support is Institute of Contemporary History -  Research Group Science of Evora Universality . This Phd programae deals with the sicentific porjects managed bt the unit reserch and by the scientific supoort of the U.E.

Scientific Brand of this Phd is research in History of Science, with interdisciplinary marks for history and philosophy of science, technology and scientific culture; It should be emphasized that its objectives may have very strategic applications in the following areas: education and scientific culture, scientific and technological dissemination / collections and museology / scientific cultural heritage, educational policies, local and regional cultural development, with a European and global transnational vision , Business decision in technical and scientific matters. PhDs may be inserted professionally into institutions or networks of cultural and scientific programming, public and private, and may assume a relevant role of cultural and political mediation between knowledge production and its dissemination in society.
